This Privacy Policy explains how Chalk Training Ground ("Chalk", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and shares personal data when you visit chalktrainingground.com (the "site"), book a class, become a member, attend our gym at The Palm Jumeirah, or otherwise interact with us. We process your data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "PDPL") and applicable Dubai data-protection regulations.

2. What data we collect

Information you give us directly when you book, enquire or sign up: your name, email address, mobile number, date of birth, emergency contact, gender, photograph (if you upload one to your member profile), payment details, and any health information you choose to disclose on a Pre-Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q).

Information we collect automatically when you use the site: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, referrer, and approximate location derived from IP. This is gathered through cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

Information from third parties: if you book or pay through our class-management platform (Glofox), or follow us via social media, those providers may pass us limited account information. We also receive aggregated review data attached to your public Google account.

3. Why we use your data

To deliver the services you ask for (class bookings, memberships, intro passes, recovery sessions, cafe orders).
To communicate with you about your bookings, schedule changes, payment, and member updates.
To respond to enquiries sent via WhatsApp, email or social media.
To run analytics that help us improve the site and the gym experience.
To safeguard members, coaches and the studio (CCTV inside the facility for security).
To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations in the UAE.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under the PDPL we process your data on the basis of your consent (when you sign up or submit a form), to perform a contract with you (when you become a member or buy a pass), to comply with legal obligations, and where we have a legitimate interest such as analytics or fraud prevention. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

5. Who we share your data with

We share your data only where we need to:

Glofox (our class & membership platform) processes bookings, payments and your member profile.
Google LLC processes anonymous usage data via Google Analytics 4 and review content via Google Business Profile.
Meta Platforms serves embedded Instagram content; cookies may be set if you interact with those embeds.
Payment processors handle card transactions through Glofox; we never store full card numbers.
UAE regulators, courts and law-enforcement agencies where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with marketers outside this list without your explicit consent.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers (Google, Meta, Glofox) host data outside the UAE, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and the United States. Where required by the PDPL, transfers happen under appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses or equivalent adequacy decisions.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your data only as long as it is needed: for the duration of your membership plus a period of seven years after your last interaction (to satisfy UAE tax-record and commercial-record retention requirements), or shorter where the law allows. Marketing preferences are kept until you opt out. Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months by default in Google Analytics.

8. Your rights under the PDPL

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
Request deletion of your data where the law allows.
Restrict or object to how we process your data.
Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
Withdraw consent for processing that relies on consent.
Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS, encryption-at-rest where our providers offer it, role-based access control, and regular review of our processors. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously and we will notify you and the regulator without undue delay if a breach affecting your data occurs.

10. Children

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 without verified consent from a parent or legal guardian. The Young Athletes Club is open to under-18s only with parental sign-off at the point of registration.
